NEW TV AD USES HUMOR
TO HIT FEINGOLD
Feingold’s Votes for Reid-Pelosi
Agenda Prove He’s No Maverick
A major new
TV ad uses a humorous approach in taking Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) to task for
wanting “it both ways.” The ad says the
senator “brags he’s a maverick” when he’s at home in Wisconsin but when he’s voting in Congress
he solidly supports the “Reid-Pelosi” agenda: huge tax increases, record debt
and government-run health care.
The ad,
paid for by independent expenditure group SpeechNow.org, which won a landmark court
case on free speech earlier this year, also highlights how out of step Feingold
is with the voters of Wisconsin. “[Feingold] ranked as the most liberal
senator, he even attacked our First Amendment right to free speech.”
“Senator
Feingold has consistently bragged he was a 'maverick' to the voters of Wisconsin, but his
voting record shows he follows the party line on government-run health care and
more government taxing and spending. Of
more concern to voters should be his leadership to stifle our right to Free
Speech” said David Keating, founder and president of SpeechNow.org.
The ad will
begin running on broadcast television in Wisconsin
the week of October 11. The ad is also
available online at YouTube.
SpeechNow.org
was founded in 2007 to give Americans who support
free speech a way to join together, pool their resources, and advocate for
federal candidates who agree with them—and work to defeat those who do
not.
